Western Rajasthan
luxury tour

It is a unique trip that we propose here. A trip where the discovery of the jewels of western Rajasthan is mixed with that of the local 'curiosities', ranging from the Bishnoi tribes to the leopards of this remote region. This is not a classical trip, it is one specially designed for those who want to experience ‘something different’.

For this trip, we have selected the best lodgings, from the iconic The Imperial Hotel in Delhi to the jewels that are lost in the heart of the countryside such as Devigarh.

Also, the very comfortable tented camp of The Serai in Jaisalmer, where you will make surprising discoveries, is perfect to give a taste of adventure to your trip.

Here is your luxury trip to Rajasthan.

Day 1 • New Delhi

Arrival at New Delhi international airport in the evening. We welcome you and take you to the hotel.

We will greet you personally upon arrival and will take you directly to your hotel in your chauffeur-driven car.

Day 2 • New Delhi
Mid-morning, you will leave the hotel for a full day sightseeing of India’s capital city.
Formed of two distinct "cities", you will visit New Delhi, where the British settled. The programme will include the sumptuous Humayun's Tomb, a stop in front of India Gate and a walk to Rashtrapati Bhawan, the presidential residence.
After the visits, you will return to the hotel for a swim in the gorgeous pool and a stroll around the nearby Tibetan market.

Day 3 • Delhi - Jaisalmer
In the morning, you will be transferred from the hotel to the domestic terminal for the flight to Jaisalmer. On arrival, your guide and/or driver will be waiting for you. You will then proceed to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day will be at leisure until the evening when you will drive to the royal cenotaphs to watch the sun set over the Thar Desert.

Day 4 • Jaisalmer
This full day will be dedicated to the visit of the yellow city, a former stronghold on the caravan route and home to the finely carved havelis that were built during the 19th century by merchants and bankers. You will also discover the Gadi Sagar, a small lake lined with temples and pavilions, once a source of water for the city. Late afternoon, you will be driven to the desert to watch the sunset from the dunes with a possibility there, to go for a camel ride. You will return to the hotel in the early evening.

Day 5 • Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
In the morning, you will leave the hotel and drive to the blue city of Jodhpur. You will break your journey at Khichan, a village where thousands of young cranes, migratory birds from Mongolia or Eurasia come to rest each winter. You will then proceed and mark a new stop at Osian to visit the city's richly sculpted Jain and Hindu temples. You will then arrive at Jodhpur, check in at the hotel and either relax by the pool or stroll through the bubbling and colourful alleys of the Sardar Bazar around the Clock Tower.

Day 6 • Jodhpur - Rohet
In the morning, you will visit the majestic Mehrangarh Fort which dominates the old city’s blue painted walls. Built in the 15th century, the most impressive fortress in Rajasthan houses a luxurious palace. You will then go to Jaswant Thada Memorial, built in 1899 for Maharaja Jaswant Singh II.
After the visits, you will continue your journey south to the village of Rohet, in the heart of Rajasthan and Vishnoi country. After settling in at the splendid Mihirgarh Fort, you will leave by jeep to explore the surrounding tribal villages, a unique opportunity to discover the daily life in rural areas.

Day 7 • Rohet - Sardargarh
In the morning, you will leave for your next destination, another small village in the heart of Rajasthan. On the way, you will visit the fabulous Jain temples of Ranakpur, the main one of which houses some 1440 carved pillars, all different and only one of which is inclined. You will continue to Kumbhalgarh Fort, the second largest fortress in Rajasthan, whose 36-kilometre-long wall is said to be the longest after the Great Wall of China, which it bears a striking resemblance to. You will end the day at your destination, Sardargarh, a most typical fort in the heart of Rajasthan.

Day 8 • Sardargarh – Delwara
In the morning, a one hour local train ride will take you to a small temple in the Rajasthani countryside, an excellent opportunity for you to meet the local population and follow the religious rituals of these remote areas. On your return, a visit to the fort will take you back in time to understand the life of the Rajputs in the 18th century. You will then leave your hosts and travel to Delwara where you will check in to one of the most beautiful palaces in India.

Day 9 • Excursion to Udaipur
Day trip to Udaipur, the former capital of Mewar State and one of the most romantic cities in India. You will visit the City Palace, a palatial complex built on the banks of Lake Pichola in the early 18th century and the current residence of the Mewar royal family. The visit of the Jagdish Temple will precede the boat ride on the lake which gives a nice view of the city. You will finish the visit to the magnificent "gardens of the damsels", formerly reserved for the favourites of the court. You will return to the hotel at the end of the day after having spent some time in the narrow streets of the old town.

Day 10 • Udaipur - Delhi

The day will be at leisure until your transfer from the hotel to Udaipur airport where you will board your flight back to Delhi. Upon arrival, we will greet you and transfer you to the international terminal for your onward journey.
